The Mont Blanc Valley truly has it all. When it comes to snow coverage and year-round appeal, it’s easy to see why the resort is gaining both popularity and awareness with skiers from across Europe.
Situated at an altitude of 1035m (Chamonix town) and located just 80km from Geneva, close enough to the airport to make weekend ski trips a regular thing.
The ski resort usually opens for the winter season around beginning of December. The season stretches until mid-April, when spring skiing on tree-lined slopes under bright blue skies in the morning precedes lunch on a piste-side sun-soaked terrace.
Skiers of a good intermediate level and above can enjoy the unbelievable 23km off piste Vallée Blanche. Accessed via the Aiguille du Midi cable car and offering several variants. This glacial route is very popular in early spring, but is nethertheless a high-mountain intinerary and the presence of a mountain guide is strongly recommended.
